Suggest a new pet type for Chapter 3 (Nightfall)
Hey there. Would be interested in people's ideas for new pets for the upcoming third Guild Wars chapter.
Personally, after having seen Phoenixes, I would love to see bats in the game. I can't imagine anything looking cooler with my Necromancer. They could always increase the size of the model too, make it a dire bat or similar and having it having upside down off the character's arm when not fighting
The other pet I think that would look great in the game is a crow, for much the same reason above. Gothic ambience. Just as I feel a hunting hawk or similar would work well with a warrior.
As we're not likely to be seeing any pet gryphons or dragons, thought I'd offer up a couple of realistic suggestions. Anyone have some of their own?

How about a snake? Maybe an asp to fit in with the northern african theme.

Snakes are a great idea. I'd be all for seeing two types of snakes actually. One poisonous one, like a mamba or an asp as you said actually dealing outpoison damage and one constricting type like a python or a boa, slowing the enemy down like a mesmer spell ^^

Coming to think of it...a snake charmer class, preferably with a NON human apparence for a change, such as naga could be fun. Spitting venom for the long attacks, controlling venemous and constricting snakes with an almost totally poison/deep wound attack set? I'd enjoy that!
Although you might find your character basking all the time in the desert sections and not able to move all that far

I like the snake idea, but I don't like the part about it being venemous. From a balance standpoint, it would be a bit overpowered considering no other pet has an advantage such as poison. Besides, there's already a pet skill that causes poison. Only thing I can think of is add "lengthens poison duration by 33%" to the snake, but then you'd have to add a mod to all pets, which might not be a bad idea anyway.
